D’ Smiler Biography

I have loved music since a young child growing up with parents who loved Soul music and an older brother who was a fantastic dancer. It has always carried me through good and not so good times with a smile on my face. I started young with my love of Soul music and Dance and I feel it is “from within”.

Being at an age where I was too young to go out with my older brother to  enjoy the music,  I spent much of my time with the company of my Record Player and my Maze LP’s which would get played to death alongside my many other  albums and 12” singles.

I learned my Presentation and DJ Skills presenting Karaoke in Spain for six years on the very busy holiday resorts along the Costa del Sol, where I was living at the time with my children. When I returned to the UK I continued to present Karaoke in many well known Essex Pubs and Bars and had a regular following.

My love of Soul Music never left me and I still love dancing at Soul events all over the UK including the famous “Caister Soul Weekender” to which I am an elite member. I have music playing all of my waking hours both at home and in the car.

I joined Sound Fusion Radio in February 2015 in an assistive role to the station which I thoroughly enjoyed, and now I am Executive Producer for Sound Fusion Radio and have my own Saturday Show,“The Sunshine Show” with D’ Smiler.

I am passionate about  Music and dance. I relish every opportunity in assisting up and coming independent artists to get their wonderful talents onto the airwaves and recognised.
